No DQ Match: Finn Balor vs. Elias Samson

 

Back from the break and JoJo introduces Elias Samson, who is in the ring with a spotlight and a guitar. Fans start chanting for Finn Balor. Samson dedicates this song to Finn and starts singing. The music eventually interrupts and out comes Balor to a pop.

The bell rings and they go at it. Balor strikes and dropkicks Samson back to the floor as they fight back around the ring. Balor runs around the ring and drops Samson against the barrier for a pop. We go to commercial with Balor standing tall on the floor.

Back from the break and Balor charges Samson into the barrier again. Balor keeps control and brings it back into the ring. Samson misses a clothesline but connects with the next attempt and Balor goes down. Samson goes to work on Balor’s shoulder now, which is wrapped in Kinesio tape. Balor looks to fight back but Samson nails a left and drops a knee. Samson asks who wants to walk with Elias as we get a replay. Samson drags Balor to the corner and wraps his arm around the ring post a few times.

Samson grabs a steel chair and brings it into the ring. Balor with a forearm. Samson drops the chair. Balor rocks Samson but Samson grabs him. Balor with double boots to the face. Samson with a thrust in the corner now. Samson with another shot to the injured shoulder. Samson keeps Balor grounded by the shoulder as fans chant Finn’s name.

Balor makes another comeback and beats Samson down in the corner for a pop. Balor brings a chair into the ring now. Samson kicks him and Balor drops the chair. Samson picks the chair up and smacks Balor over the back with it. Balor rolls to the floor in pain and Samson stands tall in the ring as fans boo. Back to commercial.

Back from the break and Samson sends Balor to the floor. Samson follows and puts Balor’s shoulder into the barrier. Back in the ring and Samson hits a shoulder breaker for a 2 count. Samson wedges a steel chair between the turnbuckles in the corner now. Samson tries to send Balor into the chair but Balor counters and puts Samson head-first into the chair.

Balor fights back and drops Samson with the overhead kick. Balor runs into a boot in the corner. Samson tosses Balor to the floor and follows but Balor traps him in the apron cover and works him over. Balor keeps Samson trapped in the cover as the assault continues. Samson drops and disappears under the ring for just a second. He comes back out and Balor delivers a kick from the apron. Balor runs and nails a big dropkick, sending Samson back into the barrier.

Finn brings a steel chair back into the ring as Samson is slow to recover. Balor with several chair shots over the back as fans pop. Balor goes on and dropkicks Samson back into the turnbuckles. Balor goes up top and hits Coup de Grace. The graphics flash and the lights go out. The lights come back on and Bray Wyatt drops Balor with a Sister Abigail in the middle of the ring. Wyatt goes to the corner and turns upside down. Samson crawls over and places his arm over Balor for the pin.

Winner: Elias Samson

– After the bell, Wyatt is still turned upside down in the corner as we go to replays. We come back and the arena is lit up by fireflies now. Wyatt does the spider walk over to Balor and drops down next to him for a few words. Wyatt poses over Balor to end the segment.

Finn Bálor vs. Elias Samson

The bell rings, and they locks up. Samson drives him into the corner and gives a clean break. Bálor takes him down with a snapmare and kicks him in the back. Bálor then applies an arm bar. Samson fights up and scoop slams him into the ropes. Samson punches away at him before slamming him onto the apron. Samson chokes him on the middle rope before connecting with a clothesline. Samson applies a full nelson. Bálor fights up, so Samson sends him into the ropes. Bálor puts the brakes on and connects with an overhead kick.

 

Bálor boots him back and connects with a forearm. Bálor dropkicks him in the head and punches him in the corner. Bálor gets on the shoulders, but Samson counters into a sit-out powerbomb for a near fall. Samson sends him into the ropes and hits a back suplex backbreaker for a two count. Samson goes to the second rope, but Bálor kicks him off to the floor. Bálor catches him with a baseball slide before viciously kicking him in the face from the apron. Bálor then dropkicks him into the barricade. Samson grabs his guitar and smashes it on Bálor! The referee calls for the bell.

 

Winner by DQ: Finn Bálor

 

After the match, Samson leaves as we go to replays and trainers check on Balor on the floor. Bray Wyatt appears on the big screen and laughs at Finn Balor. Bray says you didn’t expect that did you? Bray says he has been watching you and you didn’t expect that. You have feelings, just like everyone else in that sea of humanity. Bray says he lives for that look. That look of pain and suffering. It ignites the fire in his soul. He feels the need to put you not just in pain, but in agony. The hair on the back of his neck stands up and his heart beats faster. He needs to punish Finn. You say you are from Irish mythology. Bray says he is real and he is the eye of the storm. The best part is that he is going to enjoy every second of it.

Finn Bálor vs. Elias Samson

 

They lock up and Samson with a slam. They lock up again and Samson tries for a slam but Balor lands on his feet and kicks Samson. Balor with a side head lock and he holds on when Samson tries to send him off the ropes. Samson with an elbow. Samson with a sunset flip and Balor rolls through and hits a drop kick. Samson with a shoulder in the corner and follows with an Irish whip. Balor moves when Samson goes into the corner. Balor with an enzuigiri and he goes up top but Balor rolls to the floor.

 

We go to commercial.

 

Back from the break and Samson remains in control. Samson with a snap suplex and a 2 count. We see how Samson dropped a big knee on Balor during the commercial. Samson keeps Balor grounded now with a Full Nelson. Fans chant for Balor as he tries to rally. Balor with a 2 count. Samson grabs Balor and knees him before tossing him into the corner. Samson runs into boots in the corner. Balor drops Samson and makes a comeback with a dropkick. Balor with a chop in the corner and another. Balor runs into a boot next. Balor crotches Samson from the top and sends him to the floor. Balor charges and drops Samson on the floor. Balor goes for the kick from the apron but Samson catches the leg and drops Balor on his shoulder.

 

Samson comes back into the ring and focuses on the shoulder. Balor turns it around and stomps on Samson’s mid-section. Balor decks Samson as he gets to his feet. Samson turns it around in the corner and beats Balor down as the referee warns him. Balor ends up with a close roll-up for a 2 count. Samson with another close 2 count. Samson continues focusing on the shoulder but Balor nails the overhead kick to the jaw. Balor with a Slingblade. Balor drops Samson with the corner dropkick and goes to the top for a Coup de Grace. He hits it and covers for the win.

 

Winner: Finn Bálor

 

After the match, Balor stands tall as we go to replays. Balor makes his exit and poses on the stage. The Hardys come out to congratulate him and pose with him on the stage. The Hardys limp to the stage as their music hits. We go to commercial.

Finn Bálor vs. Cesaro

We go to the ring and out comes Finn Balor to a pop. Back to commercial.

 

Before the match begins, The Hardy Boyz walk out to a big reaction. They will join Michael Cole, Booker T and Corey Graves on commentary tonight.

 

Balor with a side head lock and Cesaro tries to get him to release the hold but Finn holds on. Balor with a drop kick to the knees followed by punches. Balor with a side head lock and he goes for a leap frog but Cesaro catches Balor and hits a tilt-a-whirl back breaker. Cesaro with a European uppercut and then he sends Balor into the turnbuckles. Cesaro with another European uppercut. Balor with punches but Cesaro with a clothesline for a near fall.

 

Cesaro with an arm bar. Cesaro with a sunset flip but Balor rolls through and hits a drop kick. Balor with a chop followed by an Irish whip and running chop. Balor floats over on an Irish whip and he chops Cesaro. Balor with kicks to Cesaro. Sheamus gets on the apron and the referee sends him back to the floor. Balor gets distracted long enough to allow Cesaro to send Balor into the turnbuckles. Cesaro with kicks and chops. Balor with a chop and Irish whip followed by a chop. Cesaro with European uppercuts while Balor chops Cesaro. Balor is sent to the floor.

 

We go to commercial.

 

We are back and Balor with a sunset flip for a near fall. Cesaro with a clothesline for a near fall. Cesaro with a gutwrench suplex for a near fall. Cesaro with a top wrist lock. Balor with punches and he goes to the apron but Cesaro catches Balor on a slingshot move and Cesaro with a suplex for a near fall. Cesaro with a flying European uppercut for a near fall. Balor blocks a Gotch Style Neutralizer and takes Cesaro down with a double leg take down and he hits a double stomp. Balor gets his boot up when Cesaro charges into the corner. Balor with an elbow and a drop kick to the shoudler. Balor with a baseball slide and then he goes to the apron for the running kick to the head.

 

Balor sends Cesaro back into the ring and Balor with Slingblade and then he sets for the running drop kick but . . .

 

Elias Samson shows up at ringside and Cesaro hits the pop up European uppercut and Cesaro gets a near fall. Cesaro with a running European uppercut into the corner and Cesaro with a European uppercut. Balor drop kicks Cesaro off the turnbuckles and Samson trips Balor when Sheamus distracts the referee.

 

The Hardys leave the announce table and they go after Samson and Sheamus.

 

Balor sends Sheamus over the top rope to the floor with a back body drop and then Balor with a plancha onto everyone. Balor punches Samson and Cesaro sends Balor into the apron. Samson is stopped by Matt and Matt with a Twist of Fate on Samson. Sheamus with a Brogue Kick to Matt. Jeff with a splash to Sheamus. Cesaro with a running European uppercut to Jeff. Balor drop kicks Cesaro into the ringside barrier and then he sends Cesaro into the ring for Coup De Grace.

Winner: Finn Bálor
