A rivalry as venomous and vicious as Edge and Finn Bálor’s can only end one way: inside Hell in a Cell.

Almost one year ago, Edge founded The Judgment Day with Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley, before Finn Bálor stole the faction away from him in vicious fashion.

Since then, The Rated-R-Superstar has been on a rampant quest to destroy the very group he created. To this end, Edge has tangled in his hometown of Toronto against Priest, helped Rey Mysterio defeat The Judgment Day at SummerSlam and even faced Bálor in an “I Quit” Match at WWE Extreme Rules.

Despite Edge’s efforts, The Judgment Day has managed to grow stronger, most notably adding Dominik Mysterio to its ranks. In his match against Bálor at Extreme Rules, the dark faction forced Edge to say “I Quit” before Ripley took his wife Beth Phoenix out of action with a Con-Chair-To. Ultimately, the Grit Couple returned to defeat Bálor and Ripley at WWE Elimination Chamber but, despite the loss, The Prince was hellbent on inflicting punishment on The Ultimate Opportunist.

As their rivalry continued to rage on, Edge officially challenged Bálor to a match at WrestleMania on the March 13th edition of Raw, but this time with a twist: their clash will take place inside Hell in a Cell.

Edge is no stranger to Hell in a Cell, including a victory against Seth “Freakin” Rollins at Crown Jewel 2021 and way back in a hard-fought matchup against The Undertaker in SummerSlam 2028. The Prince, however, will be stepping inside the Devil’s Playground for the first time. The Show of Shows hasn’t had a Hell in a Cell Match since The Undertaker defeated Shane McMahon seven years ago at WrestleMania 32.

Can Edge finally rid the WWE Universe of The Judgment Day and send Bálor straight to hell? WrestleMania goes Hollywood for a special two-night Premium Live Event, Saturday, April 1, and Sunday, April 2, at 8 ET/5 PT, streaming live on Peacock in the United States and on WWE Network everywhere else.

We are live from the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, RI, as Edge makes his way to the ring to start the show.

Edge looks around and he says that never gets old and that is why he does it. Edge says he knows why he is here. Providence knows why he is here. Edge tells Finn Balor to get out here right now to finally be done with this.

THE Judgment Day appears at the entrance and they slowly walk toward the aisle.

Finn tells Edge he is live and in the flesh. For once, he agrees with all of these clowns and he wants to hear what Edge has to say.

Edge says he didn’t come here to say anything. He came here to end this. If you are going to hide back there, then you are going to sick Lurch, Wednesday, and Puggsley on me. You challenged me to a match at Wrestlemania and if you don’t want to come into the ring now, you got your matcch.

Finn says he is going to Wrestlemania. If you think the beating you got at Extreme Rules…

Edge says he has wasted his comeback with you. The year before this, he wrestled in front of TV screens. He is running out of time. You pulled THE Judgment Day from under me and you made it better. You fit in better with those bitter malcontents. You are an Emo Delight. It has worked. Every other week, you have left me laying. You made me utter two words I thought I would never say when I said “I Quit”.

Then you still bashed Beth’s skull in with a Conchairto. For the last year, you have tried to make my life a living hell. Most of the time, you have accomplished it. There is only one way for it to end… at WRESTLEMANIA, Edge versus Finn Balor… HELL IN A CELL.

Balor says he has been to hell before and it spit him out because it could not handle his demons. Finn says he will see Edge at Wrestlemania. Until then… The Judgment Day marches to the ring. Edge fights but they beat him down to boos. Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae and Dexter Lumis make the save as we go to commercial.

–The first inductee in the Class of 2023 is Rey Mysterio. Rey Mysterio makes his way to the ring. Rey says this is a moment… that is interrupted by Dominik Mysterio and the Judgment Day members.

Dom says this is pathetic. WWE is really going to induct… a washed up old man into the Hall of Fame. How many birthdays, Christmases, Thanksgivings, and soccer games did you miss to make this Hall of Fame career? Dom says Rhea… Mami was right. Dom says he is ashamed to be Rey’s son.

Legado del Fantasma makes its way to the ring to stand by Rey. Santos takes the mic and he tells Dom his father may have let go what happened last week but he hasn’t. We are supposed to have a match later tonight, but how about having it right now?

Legado Del Fantasma vs. The Judgment Day

Balor goes for a tilt-a-whirl back breaker but Cruz with a drop kick. Cruz with a sunset flip but Finn rolls through and hits a drop kick. Priest tags in and kicks Cruz. Priest kicks Cruz in the corner and Priest with more kicks. Priest with a jumping back elbow for a near fall. Dom tags in and hits two suplexes and pushes Cruz into the corner and Balor tags in and kicks Cruz followed by an Irish whip. Cruz with a boot and head scissors. Santos tags in and he Irish whips Finn and hits a running knee into the corner. Wilde tags in and he hits a clothesline. Cruz tags in and hits a clothesline. Santos with a clothesline in the corner. Wilde with a clothesline and suplex. Wilde with a springboard splash for a near fall. Priest tags in and he connects with forearms and chokes Wilde in the ropes.

Priest with a back elbow for a near fall. Priest with an Irish whip and an elbow into the corner. Priest with a Broken Arrow and Finn with a slingshot boot. Dom tags in and hits a slingshot senton. Balor with a back breaker and Priest with a leg drop.

We are back and Santos kicks Finn and hits a flying forearm or two. Santos with an enzuigiri to Priest on the apron. Escobar with a leg drop to Balor for a near fall. Santos gets Finn up but Finn gets to his feet and Finn with an elevated elbow drop. Dom tags in and Santos with an enzuigiri. Cruz tags in and hits a springboard cross body followed by a kick. Dom with a kick and Cruz with Spanish Fly for a near fall. Priest Irish whips Cruz but Cruz gets to the apron and Priest hits the ring post. Cruz with a springboard drop kick. Escobar and Wilde with suicide dives to Priest and Balor. Rhea catches Zelina off the steps and sends Vega into Wilde and Santos.

Dom with a baseball slide to Rey who was arguing with Rhea. Priest with a super kick to Cruz while Rey is held back by the referee. Dom with a rollup for the three count.

Winners: The Judgment Day

After the match, Dom gets on the mic and he says he wants to have a man to man with Rey. He asks the rest of THE Judgment Day to leave the ring. He tells Rey he just wants to talk.

Dom says the one thing he doesn’t understand is why is Rey being inducted into the Hall of Fame when the only Hall of Fame he deserves to be in is the Deadbeat Dad Hall of Fame. Dom says he should have been Eddie’s dad.

Rey tells Dom to take that back. Dom with a forearm to Rey and Dom tells Rey to do it. Rey drops down and Dom goes through the ropes to the floor. Rey says he is not going to fight Dom but Dom says Rey will.

Finn Balor vs. Johnny Gargano

They lock up and Finn sends Gargano to the mat. Finn with a side head lock and Finn with a shoulder tackle. Finn with a snap mare and cross face. Gargano with a hammer lock and Finn gets to the ropes. Finn with a back elbow. Gargano with arm drags and an arm bar. Finn with a forearm to the bacck and an arm bar. Balor with an arm wringer and kick but Balor with a running forearm. Finn sends Gargano into the turnbuckles and connects with a shoulder. Finn with another Irish whip but Gargano with a boot and head scissors followed by a drop kick that sends Balor to the floor. Balor gets distracted by Lumis and Gargano with a suicide dive.

Gargano with a chop against the ringside barrier. Gargano with a rollup and round kick for a near fall. Balor offers his hand and Gargano shakes it and kicks Balor. Gargano with a kick. Gargano with a sunset flip but Balor rolls through and hits a drop kick because, just like Rey Mysterio, you don’t sunset flip Finn Balor. Balor backs Gargano into the corner and connects with a chop. Balor chokes Gargano in the ropes and when the referee is not looking, Rhea punches Gargano.

Finn with a reverse chin lock. Balor gets a near fall. Balor kicks Gargano a few times. Gargano kicks Balor and then Gargano with punches. Gargano with a flying forearm and clothesline. Balor with a chop and Gargano comes off the ropes with a discus clothesline. Gargano with an enzuigiri that sends Finn to the floor. Finn gets back in the ring and Gargano lands on the apron. Gargano with a slingshot spear for a near fall. Gargano with a running double knee strike in the corner but Balor with sling blade. Balor runs into a super kick and Gargano with another super kick for a near fall. Balor with an elevated elbow drop for a near fall. Balor punches Gargano. Balor gets a near fall. Gargano with a kick from the apron and Rhea gets on the apron. Gargano with a cannonball onto Dom. Gargano gets back in the ring and Balor with a double leg take down and double stomp. Balor sets for a running drop kick and hits it and sends Gargano into the turnbuckles. Balor goes up top for Coup de Grace but

Edge’s music plays and Priest goes to the aisle to wait for him along with Rhea. Edge pushes Balor off the turnbuckles and Gargano with a slingshot DDT for the three count.

Winner: Johnny Gargano

After the match, Lumis punches Priest on the floor and Edge spears Balor. Edge says this is not over.

Backstage:

Byron Saxton is waiting for Edge to come out of his locker room. Byron asks Edge and Edge says Finn cost him a match and tonight he cost Finn a match he should have won. Edge says he will be in the ring next week to see if Balor has the stones.

Backstage:

We are back and Damian Priest says you know what time it is. Dom says hello to his dad as he talks about the family reunion from Friday. He says he showed the world that he is a loser in the ring as well as a father. Dom says he will be at Rhea’s side when she faces Liv Morgan. You won’t do anything to Ex Con Dom. Rhea says she didn’t have to say a word to Charlotte because she knew that Charlotte was shook. She saw something in Charlotte’s eyes and it was not fear, it was acceptance. Rhea says Charlotte’s fate at Wrestlemania is being the new Women’s Champion. Finn tells Edge this isn’t over. Finn says it is over when he says it is over. Finn says Edge is playing checkers while Finn is playing chess. There is one more move. If you accept my challenge, I end this at Wrestlemania… check mate.

Backstage:

We go to Byron in the back and he is with Johnny Gargano. Byron mentions that Johnny has a match later tonight. Johnny says you have to be prepared for anything. Otis ran up to him and he said he wanted some hot action tonight. Johnny was a little freaked out but he figured this was for a match.

The Judgment Day shows up and they ask Byron if this is who they are interviewing now. Johnny says Byron is sick of interviewing goths. Priest says he wants to take care of Johnny but Finn stops him. Finn says Otis is going to flatten Johnny like a pancake. If you make it through this week, Finn says he will finish him next week.

Next week, Kevin Owens faces Solo Sikoa. Seth Rollins and Logan Paul will be face to face. Johnny Gargano faces Finn Balor. Bianca Belair faces Carmella. John Cena will be on Raw.

Backstage:

Byron is in the back with Edge. Byron congratulates Edge and Beth on their victory on Saturday and asks how is Edge feeling.

Edge says he is happy THE Judgment Day is in the rear view mirror and Beth is at home with the kids. Now he is going to focus on his goals. Austin Theory has the physical attributes to lead this company but does he have the mental ability to lead. With age comes wisdom. More than anyone else in that locker room, he knows it can be taken away as fast as it can. Edge says he hasn’t held a title in a while. That window is closing and he is running out of time. Edge says his second match in this company in 1997 was here. Edge says he hasn’t performed here in 18 years. It would feel good to win the title tonight and walk into Wrestlemania as champion. Edge says never say never and he walks away.

– Austin Theory makes his way to the ring as we go to commercial.

Edge vs. Austin Theory for the United States Championship

They lock up and Edge with a double leg take down. They lock up and Theory with a side head lock and he trips Theory and pulls him to the floor and drops him face first on the floor. Edge breaks the referee’s count. Edge with a side head lock and Edge avoids a leap frog and hits a side Russian leg sweep for a near fall. Edge sends Theory into the turnbuckles and follows with a forearm and a hard Irish whip. Theory punches Edge and connects with shoulders. Theory with forearms to the back and Edge goes to the apron. Theory kicks Edge to the floor. Edge avoids being sent into the ringside barrier and he sends Theory into the barrier. Edge kicks and punches Theory. Edge breaks the referee’s count.

Edge sends Theory into the ringside barrier. Edge kicks Theory but Theory with a kick. Edge with a back drop to send Theory over the top rope to the floor. Edge punches Theory and sends him into the ring for a near fall. Edge with an arm bar. Theory with punches and kicks. Edge slides to the floor on an Irish whip and Theory goes to the floor. Edge gets back into the ring and they go back and forth. Edge with a back body drop on the floor. Edge with a clothesline off the apron. Edge gets a near fall when they return to the ring. Edge with a side head lock. Theory with a thumb to the eye and a clothesline. Theory with punches. Theory with a kick and Irish whip. Theory with a clothesline in the corner and a fallaway slam for a near fall. Theory with a reverse chin lock.

Theory gets a near fall and returns to the reverse chin lock. Edge with punches and forearms. Edge with an Irish whip and he charges into the corner but Theory with a drop toe hold into the turnbuckles. Theory with a slingshot rolling drop kick for a near fall. Theory with punches. Theory sends Edge to the floor and he poses. Theory goes to the floor and he chops Edge. Edge chops back. Edge tries to send Theory into the ring post but Theory reverses things and sends Edge into the post.

Theory gets a near fall when they return to the ring. Theory with an arm bar. Theory with a neck breaker for a near fall. Theory punches Edge a few times and Edge goes to the mat. Theory with a Jericho cover for a near fall. Theory with a boot to the chest. Theory with kicks to the ribs. Edge blocks a suplex attempt. Edge with punches to the ribs but Theory backs Edge into the turnbuckles. Theory puts Edge on the turnbuckles and punches Edge. Theory sets for a superplex and Edge blocks it. Edge with punches to the ribs and he sends Theory face first into the mat. Edge with a bulldog off the turnbuckles. Edge with clotheslines and a flapjack. Edge with Edge-o-matic for a near fall. Theory with a forearm and elbow. Edge blocks a suplex and Theory gets to the apron. Theory pulls Edge into the ropes and Edge blocks the slingshot rolling drop kick into a sit out power bomb for a near fall.

Edge goes for a spear but Theory leap frogs him and Edge hits the turnbuckles. Theory with a monkey flip and Edge lands on his feet. Edge with a crossface and Theory gets his foot on the rope to force a break. Theory with a rollup and his feet on the ropes and the referee sees it to stop the count. Edge with a rollup and he gets a near fall. Theory sends Edge into the turnbuckles. Edge counters A Town Down and hits Edgeocution for a near fall. Edge looks around and he sets for the spear.

Finn Balor makes his way to the ring and Edge punches Balor. Edge with a rollup for a near fall. Balor kicks Edge and Theory with A Town Down for the three count.

Winner: Austin Theory

After the match, Theory’s music hits but Balor immediately rushes the ring and stomps away on Edge to boos. Balor drags Edge over and goes up top for a Coup de Grace as the boos get louder. Balor yells at Edge about how this isn’t over, this is just the beginning. Balor delivers another Coup de Grace. We go to replays. Balor goes back up top for a third Coup de Grace now. Balor stands tall over Edge to boos as the post-Elimination Chamber edition of RAW goes off the air.
