Edge to bring hell to Finn Bálor at WrestleMania

A rivalry as venomous and vicious as Edge and Finn Bálor’s can only end one way: inside Hell in a Cell.

Almost one year ago, Edge founded The Judgment Day with Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley, before Finn Bálor stole the faction away from him in vicious fashion.

Since then, The Rated-R-Superstar has been on a rampant quest to destroy the very group he created. To this end, Edge has tangled in his hometown of Toronto against Priest, helped Rey Mysterio defeat The Judgment Day at SummerSlam and even faced Bálor in an “I Quit” Match at WWE Extreme Rules.

Despite Edge’s efforts, The Judgment Day has managed to grow stronger, most notably adding Dominik Mysterio to its ranks. In his match against Bálor at Extreme Rules, the dark faction forced Edge to say “I Quit” before Ripley took his wife Beth Phoenix out of action with a Con-Chair-To. Ultimately, the Grit Couple returned to defeat Bálor and Ripley at WWE Elimination Chamber but, despite the loss, The Prince was hellbent on inflicting punishment on The Ultimate Opportunist.

As their rivalry continued to rage on, Edge officially challenged Bálor to a match at WrestleMania on the March 13th edition of Raw, but this time with a twist: their clash will take place inside Hell in a Cell.

Edge is no stranger to Hell in a Cell, including a victory against Seth “Freakin” Rollins at Crown Jewel 2021 and way back in a hard-fought matchup against The Undertaker in SummerSlam 2028. The Prince, however, will be stepping inside the Devil’s Playground for the first time. The Show of Shows hasn’t had a Hell in a Cell Match since The Undertaker defeated Shane McMahon seven years ago at WrestleMania 32.

Can Edge finally rid the WWE Universe of The Judgment Day and send Bálor straight to hell? WrestleMania goes Hollywood for a special two-night Premium Live Event, Saturday, April 1, and Sunday, April 2, at 8 ET/5 PT, streaming live on Peacock in the United States and on WWE Network everywhere else.

Extreme Rules Preview – Edge vs. Finn Bálor (“I Quit” Match)

At WWE Extreme Rules, Edge and Finn Bálor will seek eradication.

Edge hopes to destroy the very group he founded, The Judgment Day, while Bálor is out to end Edge’s career.

The Judgment Day thought they had The Rated R-Superstar in their rear-view mirror after they beat him down following his match against Dominik Mysterio. The beating was so vicious that it left Edge with a grade 2 MCL sprain.

But much to The Judgment Day’s surprise, the Hall of Famer made his return on the Sept. 26 edition of Raw with one request: that he and Bálor meet in an “I Quit” Match.

Edge will likely have to face this battle alone since Rey Mysterio has refused to lay a hand on Dominik, who shocked the world by joining the treacherous group after kicking Edge below the belt at WWE Clash at the Castle.

With pride on the line for both competitors, one will have the fortitude and willpower to go the distance and force their bitter rival to utter two of the most devastating words a Superstar can ever say: I Quit.

Don’t miss all the brutality of WWE Extreme Rules on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 8 ET/5 PT, streaming live on Peacock in the United States and on WWE Network everywhere else.

NXT Super Tuesday Preview: Who will be the Iron Man?

The next NXT Champion will be decided in historic fashion.

Finn Bálor, Tommaso Ciampa, Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano will clash tonight on NXT Super Tuesday in the first-ever, 4-Way 60-minute Iron Man Match.

The Superstar who scores the most pinfalls and submissions in 60 minutes will be crowned the new NXT Champion.

Karrion Kross fought through a separated shoulder to defeat Keith Lee for the NXT Title at NXT TakeOver XXX, but he has been forced to relinquish the championship due to the severity of the injury.

After conferring with Triple H, Shawn Michaels and other members of NXT management, NXT General Manager William Regal announced the decision for this match to take place as a result.

All four Superstars are former NXT Champions and among the best NXT Champions in the history of the black-and-gold brand.

Bálor has enforced his will since returning to NXT last fall, adding to his nearly spotless TakeOver record with victories over Matt Riddle, Damian Priest and Timothy Thatcher. But championship gold has eluded him so far. Can The Prince capture NXT’s top prize for the first time in more than four years?

If anyone understands Kross’ misfortune, it’s Ciampa, who also had to surrender “Goldie” two years ago due to a neck injury amid a dominant reign. Ciampa returned to NXT for the first time in two months Wednesday night, obliterating Jake Atlas in one-on-one action. The Blackheart has proven to be almost unbeatable when he’s on top of his game.

Cole overcame challengers of all shapes and sizes while putting together the longest NXT Champion reign in history, which only ended less than two months ago after a classic battle with Keith Lee. After knocking off the brash Pat McAfee at NXT TakeOver XXX, can the leader of The Undisputed ERA regain his gold?

No man in this bout has changed as much in recent months as Gargano. Subscribing to what he hails as “The Johnny Gargano Way,” Johnny Wrestling has eschewed the adoration of the NXT Universe after insisting that the black-and-gold brand rewards bad behavior. Will Gargano prove himself right and ride his new attitude toward another title reign?

Which Superstar will become a two-time NXT Champion? Tune in to USA Network tonight at 8/7 C!

SmackDown LIVE Preview: Finn Bálor is out to teach Dolph Ziggler some respect

Last week on SmackDown LIVE, Dolph Ziggler delivered the kick heard ‘round the world when he Superkicked WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. This ultimate show of disrespect for a WWE Legend has caused quite the stir in the locker room, to say the least. Not only has it led to a showdown between Ziggler and Seth Rollins on Monday Night Raw, but also, Finn Bálor will look to teach The Showoff a lesson in respect tonight on SmackDown LIVE.

  SummerSlam 2019 Preview

Finn Bálor and Bray Wyatt are once again about to battle, but the Superstar Bálor will be facing isn’t quite Bray Wyatt.

Instead of the old-school Eater of Worlds or even the jolly, cardigan-wearing children’s television show host, Bálor will be squaring up against the horrifying, masked alter ego Wyatt calls “The Fiend.” One week after The Fiend seemingly broke loose from the Firefly Fun House and attacked the former Intercontinental Champion, Bálor asked for time to speak out on SmackDown LIVE. Bálor said he has stared fear in the eyes before, and would do so again, as he was challenging “The Fiend” to a match at SummerSlam.

In response, a cheery Wyatt, along with Mercy the Buzzard and Rambling Rabbit, responded from the Firefly Fun House. Clad in a red sweeater, the former WWE Champion spoke in a friendly tone and insisted that, while he and his puppet pals are big fans of Finn’s, The Fiend isn’t and accepts his challenge for SummerSlam. As a final word of advice, or perhaps a warning to The Extraordinary Man, Wyatt said that The Fiend is no man, but an abomination, and he remembers.

In three weeks, we’ll see what reward Finn Bálor’s bravery holds, if any, when he goes one-on-one with the abomination in The Fiend’s first match.

Tune in to The Biggest Event of the Summer to see who emerges victorious when SummerSlam streams live, Sunday, Aug. 11, at 7 ET/4 PT on the award-winning WWE Network.

Raw Preview: Finn Bálor believes he can slay The Beast

Even though there were many who didn’t believe in Finn Bálor, he always believed in himself, and it was that mindset that propelled the ultra-athletic Superstar past John Cena, Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin in last week’s Fatal 4-Way Match main event to earn a Universal Championship Match against Brock Lesnar at WWE Royal Rumble.

Now that he has a chance to reclaim the title he never lost, Bálor is on a collision course with one of the most powerful competitors in WWE history. Can The Extraordinary Man succeed in defeating the nigh unbeatable Beast Incarnate? And what does Paul Heyman think of his client’s new challenger?
