  Monday Night RAW Results – January 14th, 2019

Finn Balor comes out and he says he has to be honest. He is a little tired of being left out of these conversations. You three can make claims to a lot of things, but Finn is the only one who has ever been Universal Champion. Vince says maybe one day you will again, but there is a lot of beef in there. Vince says you’ve got it all, but against Brock Lesnar and all of this beef… you are a great competitor, but I don’t know.


Finn says you never believed in him, but the people do. Finn says that he knows that Vince is stubborn and nothing he says will change his mind. Why doesn’t he show him. Balor drops Corbin. Drew drops Cena. Balor turns around to a Claymore Kick from Drew, who is the last one standing. Cena gets up and Drew floors him with a Claymore. Vince is happy now, he says he likes all this. Vince says let’s find out who will face Lesnar with a Fatal 4 Way tonight. Fans pop. Vince says that’s what we will do. Vince’s music hits as Drew looks down at the others laid out in the ring. Vince also looks at them and nods at Drew in approval. Drew leaves first.


Finn Balor walks in the back and we see Lacey Evans talking to Mickie James and Dana Brooke.


Jinder Mahal vs. Finn Balor


We go to the ring and out comes Jinder Mahal by himself. The winner of this will make it to the Fatal 4 Way main event later tonight. We go to commercial as Jinder does his entrance.


We are back and Mahal attacks before the bell when Samir distracts Balor. Mahal Irish whips Balor into the ringside barrier. Mahal sends Balor into the apron and then back into the ring. The referee checks on Balor to see if he can go.


The match starts and Balor runs into a thrust kick and Mahal gets a near fall. Mahal with crossfaces to Balor. Mahal with a reverse chin lock. Mahal goes for a sunset flip but Balor rolls through and hits a drop kick. Balor blocks an attempt for a belly-to-back suplex on the apron and Balor kicks Mahal. Balor goes for a running kick but Mahal blocks it and sends Balor face first into the apron.


We go to commercial.


We are back and Mahal with knee drops and he chokes Balor. Mahal with a hard Irish whip. Mahal with an elbow to the bridge of the nose and then he applies a rear chin lock. Mahal goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Balor counters with a lateral press and he gets a near fall. Mahal with a reverse chin lock. Balor with a jawbreaker and punches. Mahal with an elbow but Balor with a Pele Kick.


Balor with boots to Mahal followed by a running forearm. Balor with another running forearm and a double leg take down followed by a double stomp. Balor goes for Slingblade but Mahal blocks it. Balor kicks Samir off the apron and then back drops Mahal over the top rope. Balor with a plancha onto Mahal and Singh. Balor sets for Slingblade and hits it. Balor with a drop kick to send Mahal into the turnbuckles. Balor goes up top and hits Coup de Grace for the three count.


Winner: Finn Balor


Fatal 4 Way to Crown a New #1 Contender to WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar: Finn Balor vs. John Cena vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Baron Corbin


Back from the break and out first comes Finn Balor for tonight’s main event. The winner will face Brock Lesnar for the title at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Baron Corbin is out next, followed by Drew McIntyre. John Cena is out last.


The bell rings and here we go. Balor and Corbin go at it in the ring. Drew works on Cena outside. Balor drops Corbin and goes to the top for a Coup de Grace but Corbin catches him. Corbin with a chokeslam – backbreaker for a 2 count. Cena comes back in and is caught between Corbin and Drew as they all face off. We go to commercial.


We are back and Cena with punches. Baron charges into the corner but Cena moves and Corbin hits the ring post shoulder first. Drew sends Cena to the floor and Balor with a sunset flip on Drew for a near fall. Balor with a baseball slide to Drew. Balor goes to the apron and Baron with a forearm that knocks Balor off the apron before he can kick Drew. Cena with a tornado DDT for a near fall. Drew punches Cena.


Cena with two flying shoulder tackles followed by a Blue Thunder Bomb. Cena signals for the Five Knuckle Shuffle and hits it. Cena gets Drew up for an Attitude Adjustment and hits it but Corbin breaks up the cover. Corbin with forearms to the lower back of Cena. Cena tries to get Corbin up but Cena’s back gives out. Cena blocks a suplex from Corbin and Balor joins Cena for a double suplex on Corbin. Balor and Cena punch and kick Corbin and put him on the turnbuckles. Cena and Balor set for a double superplex but Drew comes under because it is time for a double power bomb because Corbin stays on the turnbuckles. Drew with punches and he climbs the turnbuckles for a superplex but Baron drops Drew on the turnbuckles and puts him in the Tree of Woe.


Drew with a hanging overhead belly-to-belly suplex as we go to commercial.


We are back and Balor is the only one in the ring but Corbin hits End of Days. Drew breaks up the cover. Drew looks at Corbin and Corbin with punches. Drew sends Corbin to the turnbuckles but Corbin slides around the post and re-enters the ring and is met with a head butt. Cena goes up top and he is caught by Drew who hits a power bomb and he gets a near fall.


All four get back to their feet and Drew punches Cena while Corbin kicks Balor. Drew with boots to Cena. Drew stomps on Cena’s hand so he won’t be able to not be seen. Corbin with a forearm to Balor. Drew and Cena exchange punches while Baron and Balor exchange punches. Balor with Slingblade to Corbin and then he connects with boots to Cena. Cena stops Balor on the turnbuckles. Cena gets Balor on his shoulders but Balor tries to stop him with shoulders. Cena with a Super Attitude Adjustment and Baron sends Cena to the floor and Balor kicks out at two.


Corbin gets a chair and hits Cena in the ribs and back with it. Corbin hits Drew in the back and ribs with the chair. Corbin stands over Balor with the chair and he takes his time to hit Balor in the back with the chair. Corbin hits Balor again and gets a near fall. Corbin punches Cena in the midsection. Corbin grabs the chair but Cena stops Corbin and hits an Attitude Adjustment. Drew with a Claymore to Cena. Balor takes care of Drew and Balor goes up top. Balor with the Coup de Grace to Cena for the three count.


Winner: Finn Balor


After the match, Balor stands tall and celebrates his second win of the night. We go to replays. Cena takes the mic as Balor’s music stops. Cena says where he comes from, you fight to earn respect. Vince McMahon told everyone tonight he didn’t believe in Balor, but the fans do. Cena says for what it’s worth, Balor has one more person that believes in him now – Cena. Cena tells Balor to give ’em hell at the Rumble. Cena introduces Balor to the crowd as the winner and raises his arm. Balor’s music starts back up as Cena raises his arm. Drew and Corbin look on. RAW goes off the air with the new #1 contender celebrating.
